This obviously allows you to purchase food from a grocery store and prepare your own meals rather than have to rely solely on restaurants or fast food during your vacation. Sure, sampling the local cuisine is a huge part of the fun of traveling; I'm certainly not suggesting that you stay in every single night. But be aware that even cooking for yourself just every other day would result in fairly substantial savings, especially if you have a large family on the other hand.

Because of the name of the hotel, most people assume that Extended Stay America is suitable only for stays of a week or more. However, as I mentioned above, they offer daily rates as well. I've stayed there for as many as six weeks and for as few as three days before, and I can honestly say that I think the hotel is an excellent value even for the shorter stays.
